We have added DMC floss suggestions with the kit information. These are the colors that we have used when we were making the samples.
Our quilters use this DMC Perle Cotton thread in many of our quilt samples.
We typically use #12 when the instructions call for 2 strands
and #8 when the instructions call for 3 strands.

Welcome Ladies

Ladybugs are eagerly welcomed to this Garden!
The Ladybug "home" has lots of cute details. Click on the photo and you will see an enlarged picture of the block. The three little ladybugs and the flowers under the porch are fabric that you can purchase from us! They are available in our Accessory Fabric Packet (see below). The "Welcome Ladies" Sign is also part of the fabric packet. Black snaps for the holes on the house and a little embroidery add extra detail.
The block is easily machine pieced. Applique is quick using fusible webbing and machine blanket stitching. The block measures 13x20.

There's a "Room For Rent" at this elegant Birdcage!
This 13x20 Birdcage block is easily machine pieced with fusible applique details. The "Free as a Bird" pattern includes the fabric requirements, cutting and sewing instructions.

Assembling the Quilt

Once you've finished piecing the five Garden Friend's homes, you are almost done with the quilt!
The 6th pattern, Assembling the Quilt, includes the patterns for the appliqued Cat and the Bird blocks plus the sparkling Sunflower border. As one friend commented, "It's about time you had a Cat in your quilt!"
The appliqued blocks and border are made with fusible webbing. To make them even easier for you to do, there full size applique patterns, reversed and ready to trace onto fusible webbing! Finish with a machine blanket stitch ..quick and easy!
Finished size of Garden Friends is 73" x 62".

They made it easy for you to be able to duplicate the look of the quilt in YOUR quilt!
So they designed the Garden Friends Accessory Fabric Packet. The Packet contains all the fabric, ready to cut and use, for the specialty fabrics in the Garden Friends quilt.
